Center for Performance to Serve as New Home for Ohio Sports League

Hall of Fame Village Powered by Johnson Control’s Center for Performance to Serve as New Home for Ohio Sports Leagues

CANTON, Ohio – March 31, 2022 – Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Company (“HOFV” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: HOFV, HOFVW), the only resort, entertainment and media company centered around the power of professional football, today announced it has partnered with Jackson Township recreational facility The SportDome and its owners, the Kempthorn family, to transfer the operation of local sports leagues to the Center for Performance at the Hall of Fame Village powered by Johnson Controls. In conjunction with the announcement, the Company has also named current SportDome Coordinator Megan Theil as Operations Manager of the Center for Performance.

In her newly created role, Theil will manage the day-to-day operations of the facility, including coordinating sports league events, maintaining the property and liaising with staff, athletes and visitors. The new, state-of-the-art Center for Performance, currently scheduled to open in July 2022, will feature 85,000 square feet of exhibition halls and athletic performance space to accommodate sports leagues following the conclusions of their spring 2022 seasons. The SportDome will cease its operations after 30 years of serving the Jackson community.

“The SportDome has been a sports staple in Ohio for several decades, and we are honored to be able to provide the many teams and athletes that relied on it with a technologically advanced, modern home,” said Mike Levy, President of Operations for HOFV. “The recreational and community leagues that will be moving to the Center for Performance will bring added attention and foot traffic to the Hall of Fame Village as we welcome a variety of players and new visitors to our space. We look forward to being one of the central gathering places for athletes in Ohio and all around the country to train, improve their skills and compete in a contemporary and friendly environment.”

In the coming weeks, HOFV will be distributing information to current customers utilizing The SportDome to share more about the Center for Performance and offering opportunities to sign up for future programming.

“We are thrilled that even after The SportDome closes its doors, Stark County will continue to enjoy a state-of-the-art facility at which our local athletes can train,” stated Eric Kempthorn, Owner of The SportDome. “We value our partnerships with the Jackson community and with HOFV and anticipate a smooth transition of activities to the Hall of Fame Village and the Center for Performance.”
